“ Vietnam Cashew exports” - Increase in both volume and value in the first quarter of 2023

According to the Vietnam Cashew Association (Vinacas), 2022 is a difficult year for the cashew nut industry. As of December 15, 2022, the number of exported and imported raw cashew nuts both decreased significantly compared to the same period in 2021. Export prices of kernels and raw cashew imports also decreased.


According to the General Department of Vietnam Customs - Vietnam exported 122 thousand tons of cashews for 708 million USD in the first quarter of 2023, an increase of 16.6% in volume and 14.2% in value over the corresponding period in 2022. Since February 2023, cashew exports have expanded fast once more after a severe decrease in volume and value in January 2023.

By April 2023, the average export price of Vietnam's cashew nuts reached US$5,944/ton - the highest level since October 2022.


The EU is currently Vietnam's second largest cashew nut export market.
